Lower Paxton Community Cats (LPCC) is about reducing the number of community (stray)(free-roaming) cats in Lower Paxton Township and help control cat overpopulation. By some estimates, there are more than 4,000 community cats living in the township. It is the goal of LPCC to spay/neuter at least 50% of those cats by December 31, 2013.
LPCC plans to accomplish this goal by adhering to the NO-KILL philosophy through an aggressive Trap-Neuter-Return program. LPCC works directly with residents feeding or caring for stray cats (known as Colony Caretakers). These cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, ear-tipped, and returned to the community. For more information on the TNR process, see the Need Help? Section.
Thanks to the community's support LPCC has Trapped, Neutered, and Returned 298 cats in 2011 and 47 cats in 2012 so far. That is a total of 345 cats.
